At TruBit, we want to ensure that your experience with SumSub is as smooth as possible. That's why we've prepared this guide to help you understand which documents you need to upload for each country during the verification process.

1. Before diving into the country-specific details, make sure to have the following documents ready:

  • Certificate of Incorporation: Proof that your company is legally registered in the country where it will operate. (Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Peru, or Colombia)

  • Articles of Association: Documents that describe the structure and functioning of the company, including the shareholders' register.

  • Business License: Permit to operate in the corresponding jurisdiction. (Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Peru, or Colombia)

  • Identity Documents of Directors and Beneficial Owners: Official identifications of key people in your company.

  • Proof of Company Address: Utility bills. (Electricity, water, internet)

  • Proof of Address of Directors, Legal Representatives, and Beneficial Owners: Documents that confirm the residential address of key people in your company, such as utility bills. (Electricity, water, internet)

  • Tax Information: Documentation that shows the company's compliance with tax obligations.

  • Banking Information: Details of the company's bank accounts that validate the solvency and origin of the funds the company plans to operate with.

  • Power of Attorney: Document that authorizes a specific person to act on behalf of the company, if applicable.

2. Country-Specific Documents

To ensure a smooth and compliant process, provide the correct documents according to the country, such as articles of incorporation and registers, bank statements, proof of deposits, tax declarations, and proof of address.

Additionally, make sure to upload unedited documents, high-quality photos, and legible files.

Difference between Legal Representative and Ultimate Beneficial Owner

  • Legal Representative: This is a natural person who is granted authority in the company’s bylaws or other documents. They are responsible for handling the legal aspects of the company's daily operations and are usually a senior executive or legal personnel within the company.

  • Ultimate Beneficial Owner (UBO): also known as major shareholder, refers to the natural person who ultimately controls the company and has the power to make decisions regarding the company's strategy and significant matters.
